Welcome

If you are an Asian American high school student, then you know life can be stressful at times... You've got to get good grades, study for SATs, take violin lessons, play tennis... We know the routine. But amidst all the pressure, there's also Asian Young Life, a group where you can relax with friends, be yourself, and discover life the way it was meant to be.

This page will help you learn how you can get involved in Asian Young Life.

BASICS OF AYL

1. The first thing you should know is that a lot of people refer to Asian Young Life by its initials "AYL."

2. The second thing you should know is that there are no "memberships" in AYL... You pretty much "just show up."

Welcome!

Maligayang pagdating!

ようこそ!

AYL CLUB

If you're totally new to AYL, the best place to "show up" for your first time is definitely CLUB, which is held three times a year on Saturday nights in Teaneck. Our club meetings run from 7:29 to 10:30 PM. Although the majority of our students are from the Academies @ Englewood, Tenafly High School, and from River Dell High School, our club meetings are open to any Bergen County high school student in grades 9 through 12.

Many people ask, "What is club?"

Our response is typically, "You just have to see for yourself."

Trust us when we say that club is really fun and unlike anything you are probably expecting. You can always count on there being free food, crazy games, insane prizes, and an inspiring message, but beyond that, it's anyone's guess. You can also be sure you'll see tons of Asian students from all over Bergen County!

Please visit our Club page to see when and where our next club will be taking place. We'd love to have you join us!

But club is just the beginning... We also have overnight trips like Saranac in July and the Winter Getaway in February... community service opportunities like Capernaum in August and Work Crew Weekend in October... school-based discipleship groups called Harvesters that meet throughout the school year... and a whole lot more. If your desire is to experience abundant life, you found the right place!

WHAT IS ASIAN YOUNG LIFE... REALLY?

Asian Young Life is a Christian missions organization in Bergen County, NJ, that introduces Korean, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, and other Asian American teenagers to Jesus Christ and helps them to develop a Christian way of life through activities that contribute to their academic, physical, social, and spiritual growth.

We are not a church nor are we affiliated with any particular youth group, but we are funded by a number of churches in northern New Jersey that believe in the goals of Asian Young Life. We are also funded by individual donors who want to help Asian teenagers like you experience life in a whole new way.

Although our approach to life is guided by our Christian faith, we welcome young people from all religious and non-religious backgrounds. Furthermore, we protect every teenager's right and ability to make his or her own decision regarding faith issues, and we never try to force our beliefs on anyone. No matter what you believe, you are invited to be a part of AYL.

Many of our leaders are public school teachers, and all of them are mature adults who care about Asian young people and who are committed to serving teens as mentors.

If you have any questions, you (or your parents) should check out our About Asian Young Life page. We can also provide you with the names of local pastors and parents who endorse what we do, just in case you think there's something suspicious about AYL. If you still have unanswered concerns, then please contact us. We're interested in what you have to say.

SARANAC

Unless you've been living in a cave, you have probably heard some of your friends talk about our Saranac summer camp. And they probably used words like "unbelievable" and "amazing" to describe what they experienced. See how you, too, can experience the best week of your life at Saranac.
